Retiree corner: Since our last communication to you, when we were fortunate enough to have a special page all to ourselves in the Local Bulletin (which incidentally, produced some new members), there have been some changes.
Our hall at the Canadian Legion for the past 12 years has been sold. Although we did have an inkling that was a possibility, it still took us by surprise. The Legion will be relocated at 110 Jutland Road, off Islington Avenue south of Bloor, about 5 - 10 minutes from their original building. Unfortunately, they will not be available for our meetings until some time. No panic, but some real concern. Where will be able to hold our meeting for the next 4 months??? Once again luck was on our side, we managed to obtain the hall at the Holy Angels Church, across the road from the Legion's new premises, at 61 Jutland for those four months.
So make note of those places and we hope you will come along and join with us because we need more retirees in your club. There is plenty of free parking at both locations. If by bus on Islington Avenue, alight at the 7/11 store on the corner, a short walk on Jutland to either of the halls. The change of venue made no difference to attendance at our meetings and, because both halls are at ground level (no stairs), should encourage more retirees to come along.
Our January 2nd 2006 meeting was held in the new Legion Hall at 110 Jutland Road. A New Year resolution to join our club would be a great idea - $10.00 will get you a year of enjoyment and interesting Get-Togethers with your fellow retirees.
The ball is now in your court, so how about it???
