Re: Toronto Labour Day Parade 2008, Monday, September 1st, 2008

Dear Sisters & Brothers,

The 2007 Toronto Labour Day Parade was a resounding success. I am proud to say that CEP has contributed greatly to the success of the Toronto Labour Day Parade as more and more CEP members turn out to show their Union spirit and pride.

If your Local is planning to use a vehicle or a float in this year's parade, or if you or any of your members are interested in being marshals, please contact National Representative Barb Dolan at 905-678-0800 ext. 240, or bdolan@cep.ca no later than Friday, August 1st, 2008.

Once again, there is no longer automatic free entry into the CNE following the Parade. In order to gain free admission, it is necessary for each participant to be wearing a wristband These wristbands will be distributed prior to the start of the Parade at the CEP gathering point. Here is the link to the flyer for the 2008 Toronto Labour Day Parade. We ask that you post in on all bulletin boards as well as distribute it to your members. The theme for this year's Parade is "Organize for the right to Unionize"

2008 Toronto Labour Day Parade "Organize for the right to Unionize"  Monday. September 1st, 2008.

This year's Labour Day Parade will be held on Monday, September 1, 2008. We encourage Local members and their families to be there to march with us! Meet your CEP Sisters and Brothers under the CEP banners on the east side of University Ave., north of Armoury Street at 9:00 am.

Bring your family and friends free admission to the EX at the end of the parade. However, you must be wearing a wristband to receive free entry. They will be distributed prior to the start of the parade at our gathering point. While you wait for the commencement of the Parade, enjoy live music, coffee, water, muffins and the CEP giveaway! Show your Local spirit by entering a decorated vehicle or float. Deadline for vehicle permit application is Friday. August 1 2008 don't miss it!
